This is why hockey players are cool

 

These are the Bridgeport (Connecticut) Sound Tigers of the AHL who each have the names of the kids killed at Sandy Hook Elementary on the back of their jerseys with the jerseys going to the families, if they want them.

It makes me feel pretty good to be a hockey player.

Well we finished 8-4 but lost in the finals

 

 

 

 

 

My team Arsenal finished 8-4. We won the semi-final game in the playoffs but lost in the finals. This is the second season we came in second place. A little frustrating.

Next, we play a tournament over Christmas and in January we start our new season. We are looking for first place next season.

Arsenal is now 5-1 and in first place!

Also Saturday I am trying out for the Arsenal tournament travel team.

Hey, me and my friends went to Lego Kids Fest when it came to our town

It was pretty cool.

There were some giant lego models of things and towns and it gave me an idea of how I could build the lego towns I have at my house even bigger.

Arsenal wins and is 2-0!

Yesterday my team Arsenal played the Hurricanes who won the league last year and we beat the Hurricanes 10-5. We are now 2-0 and doing pretty good. Our practices are going good too. I won't be scoring many goals in this league because I am a defenseman and I am supposed to sty back and stop the other team which I like to do.

Last week, I was invited to try out for the Arsenal travel tournament team playing tournaments in Michigan and then the finals in Toronto. I try out for the team in November. I hope I make it.

Some of the photographs I have of me and Arsenal are a little blurry because my mom says we are moving too much when she takes the picture so i just go with what we have.

Saturday, my hockey team Arsenal played our first game against the Leafs and we won 12-7. We have some new players and I think we are going to be pretty good. Last season, we came in second place and this year we are looking for first place. We are getting older and I think I am only one of two underage players on our team as me and Josh are 10 years old and playing in this 12 year old league.

I did get the only penalty of the game for tripping but I am a defenseman and I have to try and stop guys on the other team when they are close to scoring so that is what happened. My mom took a picture of me in the penalty box.

I say "Go Arsenal!"

A robot built by students from our high school, Novi High School threw out the first pitch of the Tigers game tonight at Comerica Park.

The first picture is of them practicing the throw.

I wish I was there.

I went to the game last night but not tonight.

I think this is really cool.

Tiger game

Me and my dad went to the Tigers game yesterday. We sat in our season tickets and they are in the section right behind the plate. Right before the game started, my mom's Uncle Tom and Aunt Sharon sat next us. We couldn't believe it and didn't know they were going to the game or were going to be sitting right next to us. We got to talk to them during the game and my dad called my mom at home so she could talk to them.

It was 93 degrees so that was not so great.

We saw Miguel Cabrera hit two home runs and the second one was his 300th career home run. They flashed a congratulations on the big screen and the crowd was cheering like crazy. Miguel was pretty happy because when he crossed home plate, he gave Prince Fielder a big hug.

The Tigers won too 6-4.

It was a pretty good game.

What I have been doing

I have been busy this summer.

My hockey season ended and my team, Arsenal got to the finals in the playoffs but lost so we took the runner up trophy. We think this was pretty good because we were 10 year old kids playing in the 12 year old league and were the only team that did that. Our team is taking this late summer season off and we will start up again in the fall.

In baseball, my team the Novi Tigers finished in first place with a 10-1-1 record but we lost in the first round of the playoffs but that is ok. I made some good friends on my team and only knew one kid before the season started.

Me, Alex and Eddie from the Novi Tigers made the All Star team and we all got to play in the All Star Game this Saturday. It was fun and the league gave everybody who came to the game a real nice picnic lunch with plenty to eat and drink. It is a big party and the league sets up big tents and even kids who are not in the All Star Game come to the game and party. There is a big crowd and it is fun.

During the All Star Game, the coach of the Novi Heat which is the Novi travel team that represents the city talked to my dad and asked if I would be interested in trying out for that team. They travel to other cities and some are a long ways away to play teams in other cities. The coach said they play and practice 5 times a week in the summer and 3 times a week in the winter because they practice inside at Novi High School. Me and my dad talked it over and we decided that I would not try out for the Novi Heat because I don't want to give up hockey and there would be no time to play that if I played on the Heat. Next year, I will play in the same Novi little league and play other kids from Novi and that is fine with me. I have made the All Star Game the last 3 years in that league and maybe I can do it again next year.

I have also been going to a lot of Tiger games and I might start posting about that. 

Home Run Showdown

I was at the Tigers game today and they showed a preview of this movie on the big screen.

It looks really good and I can't wait too see this movie. It was something about a guy who is not really a baseball guy but he becomes a manager of a little league team. When it comes out, my dad said we could see it.

I have some posts I need to put up about the end of my hockey and baseball seasons and also the little league All Star Game. I have to get all the pictures together but I will do it.

I have been busy with my little league baseball team and our playoffs.

I also have been playing this new x-box game I got and it is called Little League World Series and this is a picture of it!

Me and my cousin, Justin

My cousin Justin is visiting from Virginia and he came to watch my baseball game today. That is cool.

He came with his mom Nanette, my other aunt Carolyn, my cousin Alisha and my grandma and grandpa. It took them an hour to drive to come to my game and I am glad they all came. None of my aunts or uncles or my dad's family live by us so it is great when they come see me play baseball. We didn't win but that is ok.

We even went to McDonald's after the game and had a lot of laughs there. Justin is 10 years old like me and plays football and does karate in Virginia and maybe one day I can see his games there if we visit. Justin has a karate shirt on in this picture.

It is Justin's birthday Saturday and we are going over my grandma's to celebrate it and that is going to be a lot of fun. When Justin lived in Michigan, we were together a lot.

This was fun.

I am playing baseball for the Novi Tigers this year

I am having a lot of fun playing on my new baseball team, the Novi Tigers.

I am number 11 and have been pitching, catching, playing first base and playing in the outfield. I have been hitting pretty good too and I think I made only one out in our first three games. Me and my dad go to the diamond every Sunday night with a bucket of balls and I take batting practice so I am working hard on my hitting. We go on Sunday nights because no teams play then. After, we stop for an ice cream sundae.

This is the first year I have ever pitched and I work on that too with my dad. My dad says I throw harder than most pitchers in the league. Our league keeps stats and I have pitched 3 innings so far and I have 8 strikeouts but one walk. Our team is 3-0 and in first place and we are all having a lot of fun.

I say "Go Novi Tigers!"
